Parts of O'Quinn car collection to be sold at RM auctions in March

Batches of cars from the extensive collection of Texas attorney John O’Quinn--one of the most impressive collections of classic sheetmetal since William Harrah’s--will cross the auction block this spring at a pair of RM Auction events. O’Quinn, a noted attorney who died in a car crash last October, assembled a collection of at least 800 cars, and it could number as many as 1,300. Fifty-five cars from the collection will be sold at the RM auction on March 13 at Amelia Island, Fla.

Design Sevices: MCE Design Workshops

Independent design studio Motorcity Europe (MCE) is launching another series of two- and five-day design workshops aimed at broadening the skills, experience and job prospects of anyone working - or looking to work - within the field of automotive design. Based on the massive success of the MCE Summer Seminars, these follow up workshops in February 2010 will be an intensely improved version, open to all skill levels of design. But despite the Macan having been spied many times, seemingly almost undisguised, we really don’t know what it will look like. That’s because Porsche’s man in charge of the design of the Macan - Michael Mauer – has admitted that Porsche has had to go back to the drawing board with the Macan to try and address its design in light of the huge success of the Range Rover Evoque.
